When colours collide

“Working with mixed media and creating collages energizes me! I become swept into the chaotic mess of organizing colour, texture and photo to create playful balance and harmony.”

Painted with watercolour, I first create large paper swatches that are vibrant and look textured. I love the surprising effects that resists (salt and saran wrap) make when using watercolours. Next, I arrange the colourful papers to create a collage that resembles the layers of land, water and sky in landscapes.

Layered Landscapes

Using mixed media, I layer together my own local and travel photographs of interesting places with painted papers. I strive to create bright and interesting scenes that draw in the viewer. This style is also used to create custom work for clients by using their personal photos. See examples in the Memory Montage Section.
